Major League Baseball players will be reporting to training camps Wednesday, July 1, for a 60-game season set to start either July 23 or 24.
MLB commissioner Rob Manfred imposed the shortened season Monday and the MLB Players Association agreed to report to camps after the two sides finalized health and safety protocols Tuesday.

New 2020 MLB schedule
- “Spring” training 2.0 will start July 1. Teams will train at their home ballpark facilities, with the possible exception of the Toronto Blue Jays, who may need to use their spring training complex in Dunedin, Fla.
- Opening Day is expected to occur July 23 or July 24.
- Teams will be able to make transactions beginning Friday, June 26, at noon.
- The trade deadline will be August 31 and represents the midway point of the season.
